Jake did not come to real estate through sales. He came to it through building a career in high stakes decision making.

Across military service, management consulting, technology leadership, and private real estate investing, he was repeatedly placed in environments where the decisions mattered, the pressure was real, and good outcomes required structure, not mere luck.

His consistent observation is that clarity is not the enemy of speed. It is what makes decisive action possible. A decision made with defined criteria and a clear strategy does not move slower, it moves better with conviction rather than hope, and without the doubt that follows decisions made under pressure.

Residential real estate is one of the few places where people make consequential financial decisions without that kind of support. Blueprint is his answer to that.

Importantly, with his education in architecture, design, and fine art, Jake evaluates properties not only as investments and transactions, but as places people inhabit over time and build their lives. In addition to architecting great decisions, he aspires to help clients see what a property can one day become.


John McClain

John brings what no framework can replace: the practical intelligence that comes from guiding hundreds of real estate transactions through to completion in the Portland market.

Over the past decade, John has gudied more than 750 transactions through the Dennison Capen Group team at Windermere Realty Trust, while personally brokering more than 200 transactions. That experience spans residential property across the Portland metropolitan area, from inner-city neighborhoods to communities throughout Clackamas, Washington, and Yamhill counties.

Within Blueprint, John’s role is straightforward. He provides the market judgment, brokerage infrastructure, and transactional authority that turns strategy into execution. When Blueprint develops a recommendation, John ensures it can be carried through the realities of negotiation, contracts, inspections, financing, and closing.

His experience includes residential sales, small multifamily properties, new construction, land transactions with builders, and transactions involving estates, trusts, divorces, and other fiduciary situations requiring careful coordination among multiple parties.

Hundreds of transactions across the Portland market have given John the ability to quickly recognize the difference between normal friction and genuine risk. That judgment—knowing when to press forward and when to pause—is often what protects clients from costly mistakes.
